This is one of my at work sauces so I will try and get a pic in for it. Also going to be giving these sauces an ongoing long term review over a few weeks and differenct meals to see if it has the repeat buyer factor.
I had this sauce sitting around for awhile, but being overwhelemd with a plethora of sauces already opened I had to keep it on the backburner for a bit.
The label is pretty cool. Colourful and busy and it actually makes the sauce inside look really appealing. Sight alone it is a deep red\brownish hue with flecks of seeds and spices.
The aroma is very pleasant with a nice smoky flavour behind vinegar and I although it didn't list what the spices were I am pretty sure I could detect cumin.
The viscosity is just right in the pour lending itself to even distribution on sandwiches and a controlled dispense over soups and chili.
All sounds good so for. But for all these great points I find that the sauce it's character in food. It doesn't taste bad by any means, it just doesn't take food to the next level. It plays it safe and is happy to be there. Also, there is not too much of a heat factor. Calling itself Liquid Napalm is pretty strong and having a GI on fire for the label.....well.......
Going to be keep trying this out on few more meals. Maybe I just haven't found the right combination yet.
Ok - here is an update. This stuff is stellar on Asian food. Sure it says Cajun Heat but wow. Last week I had some General Tao Chicken and today I just finished some Black Bean Beef. I don't know what was going on with the other foods (chili etc) but the flavour and heat it added to these dishes was incredible.
There isn't anything listed on the ingredients to say it can match up with Asian dishes but it just works. And works incredibly well at that. If you have a bottle of this at home do yourself a favour and give a go in a stir fry or a noodle dish! Maybe Cajun Heat does have the ancient chinese secret.
