Hot Sauce Blog

Hi everyone on the old site Jay posted his blue prints to build (I will call it an indoor greenhouse) I see it still on the old site but I can not print it for the life of me and for some reason some of te words are messed up but that could be my computer. Does anyone know that Jay so that I can contact him and see about getting those blue prints?

And if you have suggestions or a better system I would love to get all of you input. I keep trying to grow from seeds but I put off too long (live in Chicago area)and now July I dont have peppers and I wonder if it is better to just buy plants started from the chili woman and not do all the fun I enjoy. Discuss?

I live in the Detroit area and grow my peppers from seeds. Due to the cool summer my plants are only about 18 inches tall and have peppers on them the size of large berry right now. They will mature in late August and early September. Even if I start the seed germination in early spring it's just too cold to plant them outside in early spring. I have never been able to harvest any peppers that I have grown in my garden in July. So don't give up just plan on a late harvest. I slice the peppers with a razor blade into quarters and tie them up by the stems with fishing line to dry. I then place them in a spice chopper and then put them in a tupper ware container for for future use. Hope this helps you out a little.
