Hot Sauce Blog

In States you can grab this stuff at almost any local corner store for next nothing. Up here we are not so lucky.

Just saw that our local Loblaws sells a few variaties for $2.69. Not bad compared to what I have seen it at at speciality shops for.

So there you go, hit up a Loblaws for your El Yucateco for fix (in the Mexican food isle).

Wow, yeah, this stuff everywhere down here. In convenience stores and on the table at my favorite local Mexican restaurant. I just stumbled across a Jalapeno sauce they make. I had only seen the habanero ones and their chipotle sauce. It's quite mild, compared to the others, and goes great on just about anything. Their XXXtra-Hot-Habanero packs a good punch, but they have a Caribbean-Habanero, also, and that is my current fav. Get your hands on some, if you can. Good stuff...

Just bought some on saturday at a Mexican grocery store here in Montreal.

I bought some Chipotle and some XXXTra-Hot Habanero (natural color). They are both really good! Made some wings with both for the Grey cup game and both were way better than the Frank's red hot ones I also made!

The XXXtra Hot does give a nice punch, but once cooked, it's not as hot as it is "raw". Next time I think I'm gonna cook the wings plain and put them in the sauce once they're cooked!

They're all decent stuff for the price. I usually keep it around just because its available and cheap. My only problem is all the preservatives. Oh, and if you marinate chicken in the green sauce, it looks like it'll glow in the dark when you cook it.

Is Yucatero the same as Yucateco? Yucateco is one of my all time favorites. I tied for third in the Wing Cook off. In fact I am still waiting for my prize. I try to have a bottle in the fridge at all times

I love that stuff. I keep my house stocked at all times. I can get it in the St Louis area for about $1.79/bottle.

Little Mexican place here in town has the red and green sitting on the tables. I usually use half a bottle or more everytime we eat there. I prefer the red over the green. Not because of flavor but just appearance. Not much into green sauces.
