Hot Sauce Blog

I don't have the 'net at home so i can't log on nearly as often as I'd like. But ya'll have been so helpful with my questions in the past that I thought I'd post a couple more.

I am growing Serranos, Scotch Bonnetts, Bhut Jolokias, Ornimentals (labled Thai Red Peppers), and Manznos in containers here in the desert. My questions are (for now):

1) What size container should I put my Bonnett and Jolokia seedlings into?

My little seedlings are nearly hardened off and are ready for a pot. The ground here is like cement so that's not an option. Not this year anyways. Should I put them directly into large 4 or 5 gallon pots or should I first put them in small ones and work up every so often?

2) My Serranos were a bit soft in the middle. Is that normal?Tasted so good and had some heat. Not sure if that is normal or not. I'm only used the the grocery store ones that are very crisp.

PS:

Anyone belong to www.thehotpepper.com? I can't get an account there! Everytime I enter the answer to the 'random question' it says it's the wrong answer. The question is 'name a chile that starts with hab.'  I feel like it's a joke or something.Oh well...

Thanks to all of you.
